I don't use any, though I do have some. The thought of my cats playing with a loaded pin cushion freaks me out! For pins, I use two small vintage 1950's Corningware ramekins (love 50's Corningware!)...one on the cutting table for when I pin things together and one next to the sewing machine for when I pull them out.

I thought I only had 1 which is an magnet. But, tonight I found 2 more. You know the kind, they look like tomatoes.
One is pink, the other red.

I have many places where my pin cushions are located! Beside my sewing machines and I have 4 of them. My surger, my ironing board, and the place where in love to sew on bindings.Everyone have a great sewing and pinning day!!

I hate to admit this, but I don't have one... I was thinking yesterday that I REALLY needed to make me one!

Just made the pillow pincushion with thread sack last night. I'll post a pic when I get a chance.

Not sure if you were asking about the pin cushion I posted or not. My grandmother taught herself. She made all kind of baskets. I have several I still use. I've said that I wanted to learn but never take the time.
