Lynnie, I buy at JA's also - and I find lovely fabric there. I do not understand the bias I see on the boards sometimes about JA's. I was in there yesterday and if I had lots of $$, I would have bought a ton of fabric - well maybe not a ton - but the new fabric they had just put out was so pretty! It is only about 2 miles from my house - so it is my "happy place" when I need something to cheer me up.

That is ridiculous! I am cheap and like the $2.50 to $3.50 range. And the low end are getting harder to find.

Hi, oklahommamom2
The most I have paid for fat quarters is 3.25 and that's because I really wanted it the lowest price when JoAnn has them on sale for 50% off or .99 cents, If I am paying $8-$10 I want some kind of value special sale purchase. Because at JoAnn original price is $11.00 for 5 fat quarter bundles.

Nobody in America, but I have heard prices that high in some other countries though....
Yes many Americans pay that much for a yard of fabric. Most everyone that sews designer clothes and formal wear will pay that and more. I've seen shoppers at big quilt shows drop hundreds of dollars for a few yards of high end hand dyed fabric.

Prices do vary a lot depending upon which part of the US (or foreign country) one lives in. Even here in USA, quality 100% cotton fabric prices have gone up because of higher wholesale costs.

Nancy's Notions has a 48 hour sale on a FQ pack -- price comes out to $1.19. That's about my price point though I have been known to go to $2.50. I don't usually buy the big packs because there are always several pieces that I don't use.
