How to Quilt a Denim Dresden Rug?
I'm making a denim Dresden rug. It has an embossed denim fabric on the back and an 80/20 batting. I've got it glue basted and pin basted. I'm just not good at figuring out how to quilt things.
It measures 52" across.
I want to quilt the heck out of it.
I think I want 4 different motifs to go in the different blades and repeat them each 4 times, as there are 16 blades.
Or any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Looks like it'll be a nice addition to your floor decor!
With it being denim, I am thinking it is probably heavy, thick bulky.
I don't think I would get too fancy schmancy, and would opt for straight line quilting.
I'd fill the centre by going around the circle in a spiral.
I would stitch straight the length of the blades, starting with SITD of each blade.
Then, as many lines stitched as close as you want.
I'd angle each row to keep emphasis on the blades.
If using a domestic machine, get some "Jeans" needles to make the job a lot easier.

Love your rug! I still have a tub full of jeans. I will definitely place denim rug on my list. I like the matchstick idea for quilting the arms, maybe use variegated thread.

Great idea for the variegated.
For the centre, I said spiral yesterday, but last night I went duhhhhh .... cross hatch be easier and just as effective, if not more so. I probably would not do a traditional 90° hatch. Instead would look at angles I could create by joining blades. Eg. blade #1 to blade #5 to #9 etc. (#1 or #6, etc.) and so on round the circle. It might work out that a centre dot would not be quilted at all. KWIM? Definitely would want to plan it out and see what would happen, before starting with machine and thread..
