I personally like the pops of the darker gray. Makes it more interesting. I like #1 best.

I like the first one ... I like the distinctive "X" and "O" ... easier on the eyes!

I like the matchy X's. It's fun that putting them together makes the O's. Looks very clever (and it IS clever).

I like the second arrangement....more random, less planned look.....and then I like the matched X's next.....I guess it depends what kind of look you want.....I am no help am I? LOL

I like number 2 also. The darker gray is too concentrated in the first layout
I just finished doing this quilt and used 28 different browns I layed mine out random and just loved the look.

I like the first one best. For me, it's the one that makes the X's and O's show up most clearly.
