but he sandblasted and painted it up for me in a high gloss black. I have a beautiful thick piece of green tinted glass on it - it's gorgeous as my computer desk.

Went to a retreat in Kansas once. Every sewing table was made from an old treadle! It was great fun to see all the different versions!

I have an old treadle stand with ornate legs and treadle that I topped with glass and have used as a side table and, at one point, a bedsde stand. It love it.

Not weird at all. I have seen different things made from them including a table for a porch and a plant stand in a garden.

Not weird at all. I have a table made out of the treadle legs and really enjoy using it. The tabletop is made of very thick wood - it's probably really old too. They make lovely tables, etc.

I have the legs and tredle with a marble top. I have it in my den and have used it as a side table for many years.

I have one and love it. My grandfather did tile work and built it for me--he was in his mid-80's. Sadly, he used a new grout that did not work well but I treasure it all the same.
