I came across this fabric and just had to have it. I purchased a yard. Then a month and a half later, I went back to the quilt shop and purchased 2 more yards. Now after looking it over, I am at a loss on how to use it in a quilt. At first, I was thinking about using it as a 6 or 8 inch border. Then I started thinking about fussy cutting it and placing a border around each cut.

Then when taking the pictures, I noticed that I bought the same print on two different backgrounds.

I am open to all suggestions. Thanks for any advice.

I am thinking a warm wishes quilt...you could use both background color fabric as your focus fabric.

I love these ideas. Keep them coming.

For erstan947 and quiltingcandy - can you tell me more about the beach hat? Are there patterns out there for matching totes and hats? I have never saw patterns for hats before. I must live a sheltered life. lol.

Thanks for the input to all of you.

It is adorable fabric and looks like it will be fun to make something with it--what? No clue here but you will find something I am sure that will get you going.

There are some "pillow panel" out there that go with that fabric. I got them off ebay. I would use beachy fabrics to go with it. Flip flops, beach balls, beach umbrellas, etc.

    It's a fun fabric

There are McCall's and Simplicity patterns for floppy beach hats as well as other styles. There is one here. You can omit the embroidery design: http://www.emblibrary.com/EL/elprojects/pdf/pr1359.pdf Here is another one, not as large a brim: http://blog.craftzine.com/archive/20...le_sun_ha.html

BQ is a pattern that has 12" plain blocks for using big prints.

There's also BQ2 and BQ3 (and maybe more).

Only one picture sticks out, all the rest have overlaps, so a fussy cut wouldn't be the best choice.

I'd just use big pieces for a center panel or maybe a tote or for a purse.

For starters, I would make a handbag, maybe the Bow Tucks bag, or possibly throw pillows, or backing for a quilt.
