One of my favorites is Friendship Star. This top was for Wounded Soldiers at Fort Hood Army base in Killeen,Texas. The blocks are 9" finished, the centers are 3", all made from scraps.

do the depression block! i LOVE it and im saving squares now to make one when i have enough. i think it would be GORGEOUS! enough said....ill give you my address you can mail it to me when you are finished.....ill bind it tho lolol its the LEAST i can do

My favorites are Oean Waves, Path Through the Woods and one patch in order...

EDIT: @ post# 23, Rosemarie: That pattern is called a Barn Raising and it has added sashings. I like this pattern too.

O.K. so I am one of the stupid ones. But what do the initials HST stand for? I have tried to think of anything
related to quilting that would work and can't figure it out. I am curious. Betty Boop

HST = Half Square Triangle = the name of a block made with two equal size triangles. There are many ways to make them and even more ways to use them.

I use HSTs constantly. One of my favs is Carpenter's star. I also do oversized blocks (30-40") such as friendship star and 8 point star using medium scale juvenile prints in quilts for foster kids.
