I find I have to "reverse sew" quite often if I try to sew and watch tv at the same time but I found an easier way than the seam ripper. I save the dull blades from my cutting wheel and use them to cut the seams apart until they too dull for even that then throw them away.

I use my evening time for my hand sewing. But then again I usually "listen to" the TV, rather than watch it.

I've been working on sitting up a true sewing room in our 3rd BR and all I have in there so far are the sewing machines and my notions carts so it is freaky quiet in there when I'm working on a project. Must get a radio, tv or something in there to make some noise! :!:

I do all of my hand sewing at night when my GS is in bed. I can't use the machine becausse then he can't sleep. I usually have the radio blaring out oldies or the TV on when I sew.

I always have the computer (at least 1, sometimes 2)on and usually have the TV on & listen to it as I sew. If I need a stretch break, I walk over to my desk and sit down at the computer for awhile.

Since I've had a computer (over 10 years now), I doubt I have read more than a dozen books! So I joined an audiobook club and listen to books while quilting. Now I get to 'read' again!

I enjoy watching my tv shows... but feel like I am wasting valuable time now doing something else... so, I work on projects at the same time.

speaking of watching tv, and sewing, I have to pause and look at the tv every once in a while, so I take that opportunity to stretch. If I don't I will end up with a sore back! Great idea to listen to books while sewing. You can get books on CD and mp3's out of the library now, too... Pandora radio is a great idea, too.
