Decorating tables for Guild Christmas party
Does anyone have any cheap and easy ideas for decorating tables for a Christmas Guild Party? We have it in a church fellowship hall that has those plastic Wal-mart tables. Thanks for any help.

Please come and snip and prune my 6 8 foot tall berry loaded hollies. No vases needed just lay the holly cutting down the middle of the tables, covered with sheets of newsprint ends from your local newspaper office.

Like the holly ... any evergreen trimmings. It doesn't take a lot, just a few sprigs give the seasonal effects. Just be sure not to have candles lit, for safety reasons.
Fabric, starched and cut into strips, makes lovely ribbon/bows for decorating.
What about a FQ on point in the centre of each table? .... then have it as a gift/prize for one person at each table.

I like QuiltE's suggestion. The FQ on each table and then as a door prize is a good idea. How many tables do you need to decorate? The table cloth that comes on a roll would be a good idea. How big is your budget? I do think you should cover the tables. Having everyone bring an ornament is a good idea, maybe to exchange since people tend to take the center-pieces. Do you have a christmas tree farm near you? You can usually get cuttings from them free.

We just made these pipe cleaner trees for each place setting for our party. Very easy and inexpensive

Other table decorations are going to be greens, Christmas ornament balls and candy dishes.
I got large, very fuzzy, chenille stems and tiny pompoms with shiny threads through them (for the star on top) at Hobby Lobby

You can take your old artificial flowers and your fresh greens and spay them with gold or silver with a dash of glitter. Just costs some of your time and the can of spray paint and glitter will do all your table decorations..
