I agree.We did research before we bought and when I saw a chart that showed usable space on a domestic especially on a large quilt we saved up until we could get a longarm.

Yes, if you're trying to do vertical lines on a frame, it's a pain in the patootie. On a frame, you are limited to the size between the rollers and the size of the throat of your machine. With a domestic machine, that space gets used up pretty fast once you get into the quilt and the inside roller starts to fill up and take all the throat space. If you want to do larger motifs like a custom design in each block, a domestic machine would be easier on the table. I agree that rolling and unrolling isn't fun.
