I've seen a friend use a smaller mat on top of a bigger mat and just turn the little mat.

Joann's carries an Olfa 17x17 for $85.00. Use your 40% coupon & you can have a great one for a good price.

Thanks, I'm going to check on this one.

Chuckbere, that's what I'm going to do when I find another mat for the right price. From what I have seen of people using them I just don't see why that would'nt work.

that is great. I cheated and use a small rotary mat on top of a big one. It doesn't slide like yours does, but it still works for the smaller projects.

I hate to be a wet blanket but I absolutely HATE mine. I can't remember what brand it is but it rocks in the middle (does that make sense?). It doesn't turn when I'm cutting but it won't stay stable either. So I'm back to walking around the table for a different cutting angle... waaaah!!!

How about my idea!! Haad DH take me to IKEA to buy a 24" round TV turntable. Took an old cutting mat, glued it on with clamps, then cut to fit. Now I have a great cutting mat! Cost was very reasonable--not even $30.
