I've had Quilt for Kids quilts for toooo long a time.
Goal today was to FINISH FINISH FINISH them - 2 hours max.
As I was nearing the end of quilting the second quilt. my machine started acting up.
Changed the needle when I started today.
Sewed just fine for 2 hours. . . then
the thread start to break and the tension is off . . .
tried rethreading 2 or 3 times
then
I just walked away - about 3 feet short of being FINISHED!!!
:( :(

Hope your project went better after taking a break from it. That's the best thing you could have done for yourself and your quilt project. Been there! Hugs!

Sometimes you have to just walk away. A friend of mine was just finishing putting the binding on her first quilt the other day...then her needle broke. Fine, change the needle...then her bobbin ran out...fine, but she didn't have any back up, so she had to wind one...fine, but then the spool of thread ran out when she was winding the bobbin - she did have an extra spool, but saw it as the third sign. She finally said after the third thing in a row went wrong that she quit. She said she had ignored the first two signs in a row that her quilt was not to be finished that night and wasn't going to ignore the third LOL
Sometimes you just have to walk away. I know I do because if I don't, I may just throw my machine out the window. LOL

Yep, sometimes it is best to walk away, when you do come back sometimes you seen things differently and can solve the problem. No sweat
