Took the strips to cut them apart and.... they fell apart. I had run out of bobbin thread :!:  :!: I'll be glad when my new machine gets here 'cause it has a low bobbin indicator.

    Just wanted to vent :hunf:
I was sewing just yesterday, and ran out of bobbin thread too.

I only know of one person who has a low bobbin indicator on her Bernina machine and she says that it tells her AFTER her bobbin is empty! Maybe it is a glitch with her machine OR it is supposed to work that way so you don't keep sewing and sewing b4 you discover the thread is long gone.

My Bernina does have a low bobbin indicator... however, I have it shut off, because you also have to keep the bobbin area lint free for it to work properly... so not gonna happen... tee hee

If I am paying attention, I can hear the machine make a different sound when it runs out too but often times there is other background noise & I don't hear it! I bought my machine used on E-Bay and that is the only feature that doesn't work. I really like the "needle down" feature but have trouble adjusting to the reverse button because it has to be turned on & off. My other machines just had a lever that you held down and when you let go it was back to sewing forward. I have a Pfaff 1471.

My domestic sewing machine is a Kenmore/Janome and it talks to me as I get to the end of the bobbin. I have never sewn more than 3 to 4 inches before I know its out of bobbin thread. Does anyone else have a machine like this? Rufus2

Can you find out if the Brother machine has an override code, or way to input it? I would end up with all those bobbins with just a bit of thread left over!

I am new to this site. my picture is of a saddle quilt that was designed by Pam Bono. I am from eastern Iowa. We lived in Missouri for a year and a half. I found the people to be very nice & friendly!
