Cutting straight strips.

I just started using this technique and so far every strip I've cut has come out perfect!

The link works for me, Loretta. Sorry. I got mine at Joann's many years ago, but they still sell them (online only). You could use your 40% coupon, but would still have to pay shipping unless you can talk your local Joann's into ordering it for you. http://www.joann.com/joann/catalog.j...RODID=prd29307

I use the regular ruler but I take care to line up my fabric before I fold it in half and I pay attention to the perfect 90 degree cut. Sometimes, I only fold once and use the long ruler. I have never had a problem with a crooked center.

I recently got the Simplicity Rotary cutting machine. It helps me make 2 1/2 inch strips for my jelly roll patterns. I'm not sure if that is what you are looking for or not.
I find the best prices at this on-line shop. I've seen it posted in this group before. It is www.ihavea-notion.com I ordered it last week and got it within two days. I've been using it every day to get my strips ready for this weekend.

I used every ruler ever made and still had some strips with the curve in the middle. I got the die cut machine and no more curves at all in my strips. Of course it only cuts 2 1/2" strips. So I only make patterns that call for 2 1/2" strips. If I don't use the die cut I use the June Taylor Shape Cut. It works the best for straight cuts.
