Check out fatcatpatterns.com for a new free BOM showing featuring chickens. Not sure what size they are.

Remember ... an egg is just a chicken before it has hatched.

    Just sayin'.

Consider the pastel pencils tutorial posted here last year and do a center block with a chicken or rooster in it, you could trace one from something, then surround it with log cabin strips to get to the 12 inches. It would be quick and a showstopper!

Check out the picture section today. There's a quilt there called Chunky Chickens. Really cute.

Look at the Funky Chicken quilt here on the board. Yes, there is a little applique in it, but not much.http://www.quiltingboard.com/picture...p-t178070.html
