After you watch the tutorials, there are a few things to remember. Always use of 14 needle and shorten your stitch length. The size 14 needle makes bigger holes in the paper and its easier to rip out. Always remember that the first piece will be placed on the paper will be front side up and the rest will be front side down. Good luck!

I took that class and can highly recommend it. Peggy Martin's method may use more fabric, but you start with strips of fabric in a consistent manner. Easy peasy. I am taking a strip-paper piecing project to a retreat this weekend.

Carol Doak's dvd is the best to learn paper piecing. Then go to the other paper piecing methods with ease.

I know I can do the paper piecing it's the preperation of the pattern pieces that has me going nuts.I have to make copies of the blocks , then I have to cut the arc pieces apart, then glue them on another piece of paper and add 1/4 , then make more copies. Then I can start working on the quilt!! Not really what I would call complete pattern pieces. Im very frustrated with this so called pattern.

Most PP patterns already have the 1/4 inch marked on them - are you sure that your pattern needs that added?

It says on the pattern that I have to add 1/4 inch seam allowance to all pattern pieces, not easy to do on the curves. The pattern was $21.00 plus $10.00 shipping. You would think more of the patterns would have been done. I have tons of prep to just start the paper piecing!
