I hope this hasn't been said already because I didn't read all the 9 pages but I like the idea of a pink nose. Just looking at the upturned nose makes me see it moving. Maybe a small pink button with two holes. they would look like nostrils! I also like the idea of adding the tails with your quilting rather than a colored thread. It seems like it would stand out better. you should practice which you like better with the one you are going to eliminate.
