Here's another site I like a lot: http://thethriftyquilter.blogspot.co...e-thrifty.html
It's madly plaid!

i would pull out all the plaids that don't have any blue in them. the red and green and the orange and yellow might not go real well. but that is just me. I like things to have some thread of similarity in them.

I love all the plaids. My choice would be the blue for the background. The tan doesn't do the plaids any justice. But if your daughter wants earthtones you will have to redo & buy more earthtone plaids & the background fabric. You still should make one using the blues too! It will be great!

I won't be of any help. I would use the blue for the backing, plaid in the center, blue for the points on say a neutral, and plaids in the borders. If you are binding it, I would just put strips of plaids together and bind.

Our quilt group is doing a log cabin block in plaids. Light on one side and dark on the other, with a red center. I think it's going to be neat. You might want to consider doing that with your plaids:-)

Some of these look like homespuns. Make sure and wash them first because they shrink. I made some blocks with plaids for the boomerang swap. I was really surprised at how nice they looked together. Somehow I thought it would be a pattern overload but it wasn't.
