Default I put a Janome 6700P on layaway today!

I posted a couple of weeks back that I wanted a machine that could do the serpentine stitch, and in the end, decided that I wanted more than just that. The Janome dealer called me yesterday to let me know that they finally had one in that I could try, so we went over there today and I pulled the trigger!

I was really pleased to hear that they have layaway - I didn't think anyone did that any more. I think I'm really going to be happy with the machine and all of it's bells and whistles. I'm looking forward to learning free motion quilting, and I want to start making labels for my quilts.

Does anyone here have this machine? How do you like it?

Congrats on your new machine! Your first post got me thinking to see if I had this stitch on any of my
machines and I have it in my Brother XR 9550PRW,
and after that my friend sent me a picture of a quilt where she sewed the binding to the front of the quilt with the serpentine stitch. So your post has led to another option for me.

Congratulations. You won't be sorry. I know all, or at least most of us are brand specific on here and have our favorites,. I happen to be a Janome girl. I am on my second one, and neither have let me down. Enjoy your first meet and greet with your new machine when you get it home 😎

Congrats! If my 7700 ever dies that's the machine I would get to replace it!

I've been surprised by all the people that have said that they use that stitch all the time. Guess I wasn't so crazy after all, to want to buy a machine that has that stitch on it! Honestly though, I'm really excited about all the other features and I told my husband that I'm going to make a real effort to learn how to use them.

I didn't know how I would like the knee lever, but after trying it today, I really like it! All of my other machines are vintage mechanical machines that are mostly all metal. That's one of the things I like about Janomes - they have those metal frames, and this one has a mostly all metal case too. I have a vintage New Home and a Janome made Kenmore and they're both great machines.

I do feel really good about the machine and that it's the right one for me - I just wish I could bring it home tomorrow! It's probably going to be a couple months until I get it paid for and it can come home with me.

I have an older Janome MC 6600 and *lurve* it. (And with this stupid pandemic still going on - it gets used every day)
