OMG!!! I do that all the time ... Buy a half yard of a fabric just because I like it, with no specific quilt in mind. Or fat quarters too

Good one. If you see a piece of fabric you like do you really need to have a project in mind?

Too funny! I'm buying it because I want it... 'nuff said.

Me with another Walmart experience:

As they normally do, "Whatcha making?" I told her, and then she said she asked a customer the same thing a few days ago, about the whole bolt of fur she was buying. The looked to be 80 or so customer told her that her husband just got his implant and they were carpeting the floor in their bedroom with it!

I just smile and say, I make quilts for charity. I do, so I am telling the truth, and I am not saying that THIS fabric is for that at this time. It probably will go into one eventually!
