I had made a quilt for a woman I have worked with for 12 years. I posted it here on 8/29 when I finished it.

    http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-148846-1.htm

The wedding was 9/3. When she returned from their honeymoon, she thanked me for "the pretty quilt," and asked if I had made it. She said that her husband liked it. That was it. I thought "oh, well, quilts aren't everybody's thing." And let it go at that. Well, today she came to work raving about how beautiful the quilt is in their bedroom! She said she changed out her summer bedding and when she spread my quilt on her bed, it just lit up the room! It is perfect and they love it! Her daughters fell in love with it too. Then she asked if I still make handbags and totes (I do) because she and her daughters want some and she is willing to pay me whatever for them.
    Happy ending.

Maybe she was too involved in the wedding, honeymoon and adjustment to being married. Nice reaction even though it was a little slow.

I went back to check your posting with the quilt picture. Love it - - it is definitely bright and cherry. So happy that she finally expressed her true happiness with the wonderful gift that you made for them.

Maybe it just took a little time to realize what a treasure she had. You did a beautiful job on the quilt and if she had not liked it, it would have been her loss.

Glad she realized how lovely it is, and let you know. Perhaps she now has developed an appreciation for quilts now that she's been introduced to their beauty.

That very well could be the case. So glad she did show her appreciation. I have been in the position of not getting even a thank-you, I have a small list of people who don't get anything from me anymore [a card if they are lucky] Glad your situation turned out good.

She probably just needed a bit of time to really breathe before she could react fully. I went over to your other thread and saw the pictures - the quilt is bright and beautiful! No wonder she said it lit up the room!

It is good to hear you got such a nice response. It makes it all worth it when we hear how much they love our hand crafted gifts.

A lovely and bright quilt. Don't you wonder why some people just can not say something nice about something that was done for them right off the bat. I have run into that from time to time, does it stop me from doing it again? Sometimes. Or they say it to someone else without saying much to the one who made it. People are funny for sure.
