Glad to see the post from Alabama! Here in the Atlanta area, we have no fabric bolts in departments that I know of...yet. Hopefully soon!

I know a bunch of people have been calling to try and get Wal Mart to bring back the fabric sections- apparently it's working
Today when I went to our local WalMart saw they were adding a sewing area to the store. This store is only two years old and never had a sewing department. Looks like they have added a lot of space for bolts of fabric and notions. Yipee store is only a couple of miles from me. Can't wait to check it out.

They put fabrics in our new Walmart and it is fabulous. All different kinds and different qualities and prices. Too bad I haven't bought much. I just have alot I had already bought there and other places. I'm trying to use up a whole bunch before I buy anymore.

I recently re-discovered the fabric section in our WM too. I was so excited! Fabric prices are getting too outrageous, so this will help.

You are so fortunate. The WalMart here has never had fabric. I so wish it did.

I do wish we could get our "old" sewing section back. We never actually lost it, but the quality gets worse and worse and the prices have doubled. The funniest part is back when they had decent fabric and great prices you could never find anyone to cut it. Now that I don't want any of the fabric they are selling I usually see someone in the area. Go figure.

We got our back, but very limited selection, they say they will be adding more as time goes on. I was surprised at the prices....a little steep, for the selection.
I did go to a Walmart in Montrose Ohio. What a fantastic sewing/craft/ fabric department! Fabulous selection of all types of fabric. Notions, supplies AND someone in the department at all times....who knows how to sew!
I was so impressed, I went and asked to talk to the manager. He first thought I was going to bite his head off (must happen a lot to him), but he was delighted to here how I thought the whole department was unbelievable. I told him the 2 employees that I have met there were very professional and knew the fabrics. The department showed pride in the job they were doing...that was "their department" not a afterthought that the electronics department had to cover.
