    Default Idea for binding

I always seem to have issues with my chair rolling over my binding when I'm sewing it on a quilt so I decided to try something different. I purchased a toilet tissue holder from Ikea and mounted it under the platform my machine sits on. I have a 3M command hook that holds it up and out of the way when it's not in use and just lower it when I'm ready to sew my bindings on. It works great! Wish I would have thought of it a long time ago.

I drop my binding into a clean and empty trash can when I'm pressing it. Then when I attach the binding I just pull from the end sticking up and out. Makes it very convenient for me.

I just fold it up and it stays in my lap. If it works for you, that is what counts.

As my sewing room is in the basement with open rafters I attached my TP holder to the rafter above my ironing board. I make up all my bindings when I make the quilt top so I don't forget later plus its ready when I need it. I roll mine onto an empty TP cardboard roller, squish it a little so its no longer round then hook it to one of my pegboard hooks till I need it. By squishing it, it keeps the roller from unwinding all at once on me. Sometimes I have to put a straight pin to hold it from unrolling but the squishing seems to help some. It keeps it off the floor and me tripping over it.

I wind mine on an empty paper towel cardboard roll, put it on a paper towel holder and set it on the floor by my right foot. It pulls off as I sew and does not get on the floor, works great.

Great ideas here, both the original poster and the subsequent ones.
