I am not really a quilter but am trying to make a quilt for our grandson who is due June 26. His dad received a Sunbonnet Andy quilt when he was born. He carried it until nothing was left but scraps. I have the top ready to sandwich but need and idea for how to quilt the borders. I had thought about quilting around the boy. Would love your ideas.
Love,
Marie

You have a lot of open space in each block so I recomment some quilting to stabilize this area. Quilt around each boy and then do grid in the redt of the block. The quilt will wear better. Then for the border you can do cross hatching, diagonal quilting or a cable. If the quilt is to be lovingly abused and used then sufficient quilting should be done on it.
