Wow I have never thought of this and never thought it would be a problem. But I see there is a need for it or at least a way you can recall who you gave the quilts too. I guess I should start doing something like this myself.

Thanks so much for letting me and others know what we should be doing.

One of the many reasons I love this board so much, I learn so much from all of you. not just the old time quilters but even the newbies come up with some very innovative ideas.

I started binders containing patterns and fabrics but now just note corrections on patterns and don't bother with anything else except a picture of finished project. I find I REALLY hate trying to do two of the same pattern at the same time or even at a later date.

I had not thought about extra fabric for fixing quilts but am sure as they are gifts, they would be lost or separated by most.

Haven't seen that pattern before but it is beautiful and I wish you luck finding it.

My DIL had a quilt her stepmother had made that she ask me to repair due to being in a tornado. It was a block of the month from JoAnn fabric and I just happen to have a fat quarter of the fabric for replacement. Her stepmom and her dad were killed in the tornado in Arkansas in 1996. I also have an album with pictures of the baby quilts I have made and the information of who got them and when and the tops I have pieced but not quilted yet.

Am so sorry I didn't do that before... and am still not doing it, look at some pictures of the quilts and wonder to whom they went.. that's terrible. I am getting up in years and my memory with things like that isn't really to swift... Lots were Mystery quilts and very few I did more then once.. Do remember most of the ones I did a few times... Need to pick up a notebook when I go to the store next time and start... Thanks for the push..

Sure hope so!

I have the best of intentions when starting every new project, but soon forget. Luckily I do take some pictures to send to my DC!
Great tip. Yes I know the lady who bought "kitten parade". I'll call her. Thanks! E

I did find someone who has the pattern. She said she would sell it to me after she made her quilt. Maybe she will do it for Xmas.

I was one of the folks who was interested in the pattern. I still go back to the original post to see if the info turned up!

I have some info on my quilts, but now i see I should keep better notes.

I used to keep all of the info on ea quilt I made plus a pic to go along with itl Even a snip of ea fabric per quilt with info on the fabric used. I had all of this in a binder with ea quilt getting their own plastic sleeve. We were on a road trip and I brought that long so I could compare fabric swatches at the Quilt Shops we had planned on visiting. Well one night our car was broken into and this along with another bag was taken. Made me so sick!!!! My fault for having it in the backseat where it was visible. Need to start over but my heart just has not been into it. I really enjoyed getting that 3 ring notebook out and going through the info & pics. *sigh*
