I'd get rid of fabric that runs! I just made a quilt with red and it ran - I am so depressed I don't ever want to sew again.

Theres a solution!!! Actually 2...one to remove the dye that ran is called Synthropol. Wash quilt in that. Then just to be sure it wont do it again, wash in Retayne. Both are available at quilt shops or you can order online @ Dharma Trading.

I won a Baltimore Bride raffle quilt once....all red/cream and green and some of the red ran...but was able to get it out. I always wash any new quilt with one of those color catchers the first time I wash it. If I see any color on the color catcher, then I wash in Retayne.

Synthropol is for hand dyes and Retayne is for commercially dyed fabrics. They both work great used properly.
