Well, considering the pattern has two booklets that come with it....challenging is the word. This is one of those bucket list quilts. It may take me two years to finish it.

I didnt get very far tonight. It's a kit and like every kit I had to pull out the ugly fabric. I HATE WHEN THEY SUBSTITUTE!!!! Yanked out about 15% of the fabric. Got that done and subbed in some from my stash. I will probably go to my favorite batik shop and pick up a few more to sub in.

This quilt requires an unbelievable amount of pre-sewing organization which is what I will be doing for this weekend. There are around 200 2 1/2 inch strips that need to be cut into a few thousand little squares that are numbered in order and ziplocked into baggies before you can begin to sew.

You sound like me with a can of mixed nuts....they call to me and I lose control so I eat them....At least there are no calories in quilting! I saw the bali wedding star and it is beautiful. I am looking forward to seeing what you do with it!!
Now get back and finish the project you were working on. It will give you incentive to finish more quickly!!

It's a slippery slope... but filled with fun :)

    I'd go for it.

Well I cant quilt for two days but I can dream. I was dreaming about cutting the squares last night in my sleep.

My justification is that I am "stuck" on the third done quilt. It was a kit and they sent me a FQ that was cut short. I didnt realize it and now I am 3/8 inch short to make a square...I guess I have to go shopping on my lunch today.

I have lost all interest in my current project that is only about a third done. I found myself digging through the directions of the Bali quilt last night instead of piecing the current top.
When I find this happening I figure I'm not getting anything accomplished anyway so I might as well start the new project to get me going again.
