Maybe we should all invest in those safety gloves?

Okay, I'm convinced! Your accident (I'm really sorry about it, truly) has spurred me on to order that rotating rotary cutting mat I've been hemming and hawing about. For the past few times I've been making like a contortionist cutting out pieces. It's a miracle I haven't cut myself. Prayers for healing coming your way...sorry it had to happen.

That's a great idea, Geri B. I'll have to look them up, thanks.

Not a club one wants to join but I did this year too. Glad your cut wasn't too serious --- it does make one more careful again though.

I know how that hurts. It took slicing my finger to finally get me to buy a Fons and Porter's Klutz glove. I suggest you buy one, I never cut without mine now. We just always assume it won't happen to us,so we don't need the glove. All it takes is slicing your finger to realize buying the glove is a good idea. You can buy it on their website. Best money I ever spent.

I did the same thing to my left index finger last week!
Took the tipi of my finger off and half my nail !!! Surgeon talked about amputating the tip of my finger but he is satisfied with how it is healing now .... Boy, am I glad!!

A friend has given me a "Klutz glove" to wear when I cut!
Welcome to the Klutz Club and take care

I love my Slidelocks. I have a long and short one and love them. Now I am confident about cutting fabric and NOT me. Nancy

Why does someone not use a safety tool when cutting? Makes no sense to me. It's like driving with no insurance or going boating without a life jacket. The Slidelock is the best I've used. The cut resistant glove is cheap on Amazon if cost is a factor. I have one of the gloves in all my take to sew totes.
