I finally got mine organized as well in stacks that I can see, color coordinated too. It has made the world of difference.

It's a great feeling to clean out the stash! I've done it twice now and will do one more time. When I purchased, it was always enough to complete a quilt, so using my stash is never a problem with shortage. With the economy like it is, it's wonderful to share and help others who need fabric.

I'm not confident in my color selections so when I use that fabric I bought from long ago, and am satisfied with it, It's giving me the confidence to trust myself more. I've stopped ladies in stores many times to get their opinions.

I always sew directly from my stash, and I try to keep the smaller scraps used up (mostly scrappy log cabin quilts) as I go. Problem is I keep replenishing the stash.

When my scraps start to fill up my scrap tub I go thru and make a bunch of HST out of them.
Someday hope to make a scrap HST quilt with them. I have watched a couple of shows on it and they make a beautiful quilt. But it takes hundreds of HSTs.
I have a couple of other ways to use up scraps and use them also. Cutting into different size strips and charms size squares is a great way to use up scraps.
My stash is in clear tubs on shelves. Folded and put in the tubs on end so I can see each piece easily by pulling out the tub for the color I am looking for.
