I did one for a friend. I just used graph paper and charted out the center of the blanket then used full strips for the rest of the quilt. It turned out well and wasn't as hard as it looked when finished.

I have two patterns that I printed, "Navajo Sunset" and "Navajo Winter". They are Jinny Beyer patterns that were free. I can't remember how I found them but if you google either name, they would probably come up.

Maybe you could build your colors around this pattern http://www.quilterscache.com/S/Squas...ock_Page2.html

There have been a couple of books written about Seminole piecing, also. Can't remember the names, but you could try Amazon.
This is what I was going to suggest as well. Seminole quilts are a lot of woke but they are so worth the effort.

I was thinking of J Michelle Watts, also. She spoke to our Quilt Guilt in Temple, TX last yr. Wonderful patterns and fabric. Not like any others I have seen.

The magic was using the the word "southwest" along with any other quilt related word. Hope this gets you started on the way to what you want.

I have a pattern named Southwest Magic / Sun Streak. I bought it years ago and never used. I will be happy to mail it to you. [email protected]

There are quite a few possibilities on quilterscache.com. Some that looked similar were Squash Blossom, Delectable Mountains Variation, Zig Zag, and Navajo.
