I first got EQ5 (which may still be available). I got EQ6 when it came out and although 5 was good, version 6 is a much better program in my opinion.
One of my favorite aspects of EQ6 is that it comes with 1-2 minute video tutorials that run right within the program. So, if I forget how to do something, I can just go up to the menu and select one of the videos.
The program has been a lot of fun and a lot of help.
