Interesting gadget...anyone try it?

I'd have to try it out first, but just looking at it I have my doubts. I agree with Paper Princess. Years ago I took a class where we were all given Bernina loaners. One of the projects we made was a little purse, and we used the binding attachment. It worked beautifully - you feed the binding material into the slot and it folds the binding around the fabric and sews it on all at once. It took me a couple of weeks to stop being impressed enough to realize that there was no way to sew around corners.
with it. I just slightly rounded the corners on the quilt I just finished and it worked beautifully. It was fine on that quilt, but some quilts need and look better with mitred corners.

I have it, bought it to do binding on baby bibs/burp cloths...it's sitting on the edge of my embroidery machine stand...Not very good on curves....and these are gentle curves.
Buy a couple yards of fabric instead....that's my reccomendation

It's good to get the feedback. I have also used the glue method and stitched it down with decent results. The trick there is to be sure to have enough binding width to have enough overlap to catch the fabric in the stitching.

Great Gadget
This year my goal was to learn at least some of my fancy gadgets that were collecting dust. There is a video on the Martelli website (manufacturer) that is wonderful. (DVD no longer works on new operating system.) I watched it twice and went to work. With a little practice I was able to do 8 placemats in less than an hour! Yea! Perfect miters.
Be prepared for a learning curve, but worth the time & money. Go for it.
