I've used invisible thread for things like wallhangings and pillows.. but never on a quilt.. I don't know that the nylon won't dry out and get brittle.. It would probably last quite awhile, but I have some of my grandmother's quilts and I wonder if it would have lasted that long? I want my grandchildren to be able to pass my quilts along to their children. So I don't ever use it on quilts.

I also use the clear Sulky thread. It is very fine and soft, not like monofilament that I knew in the past, which was why I didn't use it again until now. I'm using it to machine applique turned under seam pieces and I like it. You can't see it unless you look very closely. I am using normal thread in the bobbin that matches the background around the applique.
