Hello! I have been lurking for quite some time. My first post!

I have searched all over the net for an iron rest that hangs from the head of the ironing board to make more room for actual ironing on the board. I can find new boards with a stand attached, but I refuse to give up my old wooden ironing board. Polder had one, but I can't find it. I emailed the company, but I fear it has been discontinued. Has anyone seen one - anywhere?

I ordered a iron board from Bed, Bath, & Beyond a couple of years ago so I wouldn't have to try and get it home. It is 19 inches wide and has the iron rest on the end, not on the board. I wanted the wider board. I think a regular is 13 inches

Maybe you can find an ironing board topper that just rests on top of your current ironing board. I have one and it is plenty big enough that my iron can rest on one end and I have plenty of space left for ironing. You can turn the board around and use the narrow end to set your iron on. This gives you the full width of the board for your ironing

I was looking for the exact same thing about a year ago: an attachment for my iron that clipped to the end of the board. I couldn't find anything and ended up buying a new ironing board with the stand attached. I hope you have better luck than I did. Maybe a tall stool with a silicone mat to sit at the end of your board?

Turn your ironing board around so the tapered end holds your iron. If you are pressing blocks or fabric you don't use the little end anyway.

I have a small wire type shelf next to my ironing board. My Oliso started spitting as it was warming up and I put a metal baking pan on the top shelf and that is where my iron go between uses. Once it has heated it no longer spits.
The wire shelf would work for other irons to keep them off the board.

Polder is the one i got recently. i'd given my old one away and regretted it. hard to find. it clips on the wide end of the ironing board. works well for me.Iron Rest
