    Default Ironing with Monofilament Thread

I quilted a quilt in a 5 x 5 grid using monofilament thread. It could use an ironing but I’m afraid of melting the thread. Any suggestions?

Definitely test first. I have used a press clothe successful with monofilament threat in the past. On one of my favorite quilts. It has held up better with the monofilament thread than many others. You may want to make a test patch with the same batting and backing just to test the quilt with this little patch. Save the patch for future need to set the proper pressing heat.

Do you know if the monofilament is nylon or poly? I wouldn't iron nylon, but I've ironed Superior's Monopoly (polyester monofilament) with no problems.

Peggi is right. I have ironed polyester monofilament without problem. Check your spool.
