    My dealer and the Janome rep pronounce it Ja-No-Me.

    Number 2. I was just in the sewing store that I bought mine from and the dealer pronounced it in 3 syllables. I always thought it was the first one.

    All this time I thought this thread was bout whether to buy a Janome or not to buy one. Decided to look and see it is about how it is pronounced. WOW

    (I have a Pfaff - my mother had a Pfaff) - I just mind when people downgrade other people's equipment out loud!

    On the other hand, perhaps that person really just did not get what the name was! Guess it would depend on what the intent was.

    I, too, am glad to know how JANOME is supposed to be pronounced. I did not realize it was a Japanese name.
