    This has been my hand- sewing take-along project for several years. I just keep making scrappy nine patches from 2" squares....eventually....it will grow up to become a quilt....maybe....

    PP, those are gorgeous quilts. i prefer the one with the light color background. i'd love to make one, but i'm still not finished with dear jane

    Wow, thanks for the info. I'd never tackle the first version, but the pictured quilts are lovely. I esp. like the 2nd one. As always, you QB contributors are such an inspiration and wealth of info. Amazing to see an old pattern evolve and be greatly improved right here from the comfort of my desk.
