    Default JANOME 4120qdc

I am looking at the JAMONE 4120 QDC. Does anyone have this machine that will tell me how they like or dislike it? I would like some feedback as to whether this would be a good purchase. Thank You.

Don't know about the machine, but love your signature line.

Found these reviews, but have no idea of their reliability:

This might be the best source:

What I notice from the photos and a brief glance at the reviews is that the harp size seems quite small. I think this would be a good, lightweight machine for taking to classes and for piecing. Just not sure it would work that well for actual quilting because of the small harp size.

Thank you so much for the help Prism99. I went through all the sites and got lots of info - a lot of pros and a few cons. I had a Phaff for 30 years and it finally gave out. I now have a Janome 3160 and I like it, but did have a lot of problems with it in the beginning - thank goodness I got the maintenance agreement at time of purchase. The bobbin case gave 3160 owners some problems and Janome has since fixed the problem.

Thank you again. I appreciate your help.

Thank you Misty's Mom for your comment on my signature line.

I have the 4120, and love it. I quilt by doing stitch in ditch or diagonal lines, starting to learn free motion. I have an old Viking, that I also like, but this machine sews beautifully. I've only been quilting for 3 years, so don't have a whole lot of experience. There is one issue, and that is when you use the 1/4 foot the factory setting at 3.5 is too wide, so you have to set it at 4.5. I was told this when I took the training class. But have recently learned that they have made a new 1/4 foot that allows you to use the factory setting. I just haven't bought it yet. Oh, and I'm from Glendale and Flagstaff.

Thank you so much for the information. I liked the machine when I saw it demonstrated. I have a Janome 3160 and like it NOW - it is only 2 yrs. old and I had it in for repairs 7 times before it was fixed properly, so I am a bit leery of getting another Janome. I do not like Singers at all and Phaff is no longer the excellent machine it used to be as it has been bought out by someone.

I so appreciate your input and will go back to see the machine again.

May your day be blessed beyond measure
