    Default Janome 8900 Users

My Janome 8900 book says to use the Janome bobbins with the J on them. I recently bought a bag of bobbins at my LQS for it and they don't have the J on the side. The lady said all the Janomes use the same bobbin. Have any of you tried the bobbins without the J, and do you know where to buy the J bobbins? Thanks for any advice on this matter.

I don't know if they all use the same bobbins, but the bag I bought at my LQS has the J on them.

    Hello Quiltngolfer
I bought my Janome 8900 about a year ago. From the same dealer I took home a package of bobbins I specified to use with this maschine. At home I discovered that those don't have the J on them, only those that came with the maschine. I use them anyway, I couldnt find a difference in weight, height, or material.
I love how she sews :-)

I didn't know the bobbins were supposed to have a J on them. I'll have to check mine. I did buy them from a Janome dealer, and they seem to work fine.

Thanks for your quick responses. The plain bobbins I have do look the same size to me too. I will try them. I love my machine so much. I think it is perfect for piecing and quilting.

I have the 8900 too and found bobbins for it at JoAnn's. The bobbins are different from what I use in my other Janome.

This isn't about bobbins but it is about a 8900...I have an opportunity to purchase one for 2995.00 due to it being an open box Should I jump on this deal. I own 2 PFAFF's now, how easy will it be for me to cross over? Any info GREATLY APPRECIATED
