I just finished one for my son's best friend that is a financial advisor and instead of meandering..........I just kept writing money money money in each row and bordered it with fabric that has currency all over it. It was great fun. My next one is pieced and I'm going to use the shell pattern. Since it is in rows, easy to stay within the lines

Curves look great on a quilt with alot of straight lines. What about a meander with hearts or dragonflies built in? What about bubbles or maybe the grandmothers fan (that may not be the name of it but it is what I call it, LOL... looks like rainbows going in all different directions)...

I'm trying to finish my first one (between my knee & my puppy dog, it's taking eons to do!) & was just thinking about how I'd have it quilted. It's done in "jungle" batiks so I was thinking maybe vines or vines with leaves. I think with as straight as the pattern is, the curves of a vine might be a nice change. I think we should have a photo gallery for Jelly Roll races, don't you?
