I have inherited a lot of fabric when my sister passed away. I have so much fabric and never enough for some of my projects. So, looking at patterns for jelly rolls I started putting some colors together and cutting my own. I'm on the road to making the Friendship Braid from a book called Jelly Roll Quilts by P am & Nicky Lintott.

Kim Brackett's patterns use jelly roll strips. I love her patterns.

I have never had the money to buy a ready made jelly roll that I liked (Hoffmann Batiks) ---How many strips are there in one? I imagine I'd make whatever pattern came to mind for 2 1/2 inch strips.

I love Pickety Sticks but think the instructions and patterns just went out of print.

There are tons of patterns and Jelly Roll books. Get out there and look for them. I just purchased a pattern for $2 at a local quilt shop. It was a postcard pattern. Good luck!

I've done several quilts with jelly rolls - here's a couple.
