Yes, I'm glad I didn't go. I know there were great bargains to be made with that 25% off total purchase coupon but I made a deal with myself that I would not spend more money than I have to on fabric right now. 2 weeks from now 18 of us quilters are getting together for a fabric swap. I've mentioned this swap before but it's a terrific way to let go of some fabrics I'm tired of and maybe find something new from another friend. It's a no money swap for now. I am saving my money because I AM GOING TO SISTERS, ORE quilt show in July!!! My sister is coming from CT to visit and we are taking a road trip to visit my sons and to see the show. And I want to stop at Fabric Depot. So you see-- it's all worth it. I'm glad I didn't go. No regrets. I am happy for those of you who went and found great buys.

I was hoping to go but my weekend was full. I was wondering if they had any fabric on sale to combine with the 25% coupon. I guess it doesn't matter now :( It takes me about an hour to get to Joann's so it takes some planning on our part. Oh well...there will be more coupons I am sure. Hooray for you to sticking with saving money!! :)

A fabric swap is such a cool idea! I would love to do something like that!

So here's what I did last time--I have 5 close friends in my immediate circle and several in the next level. We all started talking about how we couldn't always afford to go shopping but we wanted to spend time together. We all have stuff that we liked at one time or another but now were tired of or felt it would be in our stash forever. So I said let's swap. Fun day together, out with the old and in with the semi-new. At the end of the day we gave a big box of stuff to the organizer of our retreats to be used either as prizes or as part of a relay for charity quilts. It was all good. This year I've invited 18 quilters. Some have very little to swap and some have no stash at all. That's ok because it's all about letting go. Win win for everyone! So talk to your friends. Maybe this will work for you.
