Wow! I didn't realize this was a WEEKEND of quilting. I was sewing most of yesterday, so I qualified for joining in. I love everyone's work so far.

I am assembling HSTs too, but this is a quilt for a fellow QB member. It is made of old shirts and to be given to her Step Mom when finished. It is 4" squares and 14 blocks across by 16 blocks down, and no fancy layout.

Then I have a double slice layer cake made with vintage fabric that needs to have the rows stitched together so I can sandwich it and get it ready for the long arm.

It is rainy here so is a very good day to be doing this. Will try to take some pics later, light is poor today so don't know how they will turn out.

OK I am going to try and join you after church this morning. Hubby thinks we should go for a boat ride to visit a restaraunt for dinner --a new Lebanese place. Sounds good but it's not as warm as I expected and he thought we could also go to his sisters cottage. Don't know how to fit that all in time but it's "Victoria Day Holiday" so everyone has a long weekend in Canada.
I have a frilly child's dress to make for my Knox Frox group by Wed. Was partially done in a donated box of fabric. I will have to learn how to post photo.

I am hoping to join in today.at least for a bit. I made a whole cloth baby quilt last night or early morning hours really. Hope to get the binding on today, if nothing else. I have a lot of strip blocks to make. Doesn't seem to b much time these days to get any quilting in lately.

working on a baby quilt for my daughter's friend, all cut out, appliqué done (although it isn't perfect) and block rows all done. Today is assemble the rows, and sandwich it - hope to get a good way into the actual quilting. Will post photos when I get it assembled.

Just about to start my next block
    All ready and waiting.
If you look carefully at these pictures the friction pen marks have disappeared. All I have done is a spray starch thin and 505 glued together. With iron.
Marks should only go with friction. Now I must free hand mark as light not strong enough through 2 layer of fabric.
Just a warning to others don't iron or spray if you want marks to stay.

I have planned to get a quilt on the LA. Edges have bias all around so I thought I would add a border to stabilize it.

Now the quilt is bigger than the planned backing material so I am going shopping for new backing.

This is what I call planning!

Like Grann of 6, I have been making a double slice layer cake quilt. I am using Moda's Beacon Cove layer cakes. Yesterday, I sewed together 81 blocks. Today, before early church, I pressed my border fabrics. My goal today is to add two borders, make the binding and the backing so that I can get it to the LAQ on Monday.

Sounds like everyone is very busy! Now that I'm back from church, I'll have to start working on something. I'm not sure how far I'm going to get because the Yankees play at 1:05 though and the tv is not in my sewing room.

Everyone has such nice projects going! I wanted to sew yesterday but got waylaid by a new kitten. It was being drug across the yard by a male cat. Poor baby has puncture wounds on head and body. Had to make a run to town to get kitten milk. He is so tiny he really can't even walk yet - it is more of a crawl. His name in Ohno.
