June Tailor quilt basting spray...
#1
bought some today to complete a quilt that I was in the process of basting. The spray ran all down the can and made huge drops all over the batting as I sprayed it. It got all over the can and my hand which I had to come wash before I could smooth the quilt At this point I have black sticky residue all over my hand that I have been unable to wash off.
Now I am wondering if I am not going to have major problems quilting it and how am I going to get it out of the quilt?
Has anyone else experienced this and what was your solition?
I have never used this brand before so am not familiar with it.

I have never had that problem with the can spraying/dripping.
I have used this spray without any problems quilting :D:D:D
It is difficult to get the spray off, I used a heavy hand creame to get it off of my hands.

You do need to shake the can for the full two minutes as the instructions say. And, I have found, it needs to be used at the correct temperature, otherwise it comes out in clumps or it doesn't stick well.
It sounds like maybe your spray nozzle is clogged? You can pull that little plastic nozzle straight up and off and soak it in alcohol or something like that to open it up again.
I find that I need to use something oily or abrasive to get the spray off my hands. Like a baking soda paste or even vegetable oil. Or a combination of both. I try not to use solvents on my skin as they can really irritate the skin. lol
Rest assured, it won't gun up the needle. However, I think it takes a few washings for it to come out of the quilt entirely. But, it is on the inside, so you will never know. It doesn't leave an odor or anything.
Good luck. :)

The only time I've had that happen is when I tried using a partially empty bottle that apparently had some residue dried in the nozzle. After cleaning the nozzle it was fine.
The sticky junk on your hands is a pain. Amma's hand cream suggestion sounds good to me.
