Bought all 3 of my Janome's in Amarillo and they are great with service and information, and lessons. I call them and they help me over the phone. I'm 8 hours away. Even if my Mother didn't stay there I would still drive that far. PM if someone wants to know the name of the dealership.

Congrats on your new machine. I would try it out, play with it, write down any questions that you have and then when you have aquired enough "how do I do this or that" then I would take the time to drive to the dealer and sit down and have them explain it to you. After all, that is part of their service to the customer. Doing the happy dance for you!

I have had my Horizon for almost a year. I use the knee lift all the time, but not the push button sew. I did try it once, & it just wasn't for me. I was taught, when putting the walking foot on or off, to lift the foot all the way on & then the walking foot part will slip down right into place. I also use the walking foot all the time.

I've had my Horizon a year the end of this month, and I love it. It is so easy to operate, and the built even feed foot is wonderful.

I got my new horizon, in June but it has been golf season every since then, so have only done a few things on it and love it so far. But when I got it home I took the book (instruction Manual) and went thru the whole thing I even tried all of the stitches (kept them for future reference).Good luck and enjoy.

I too just got my Horizon 7700 as of August 1st. I have been using my start and stop button. I have taken my 1st lesson and have set up my 2nd lesson. I can't wait to get a quilt assembled so I can quilt it. I had just quilted a 95x96 inch quilt on a Janome DC 3018 with a throat space of less than 7 inches. I think this one will be a dream when it comes to quilting on it. I would like to join one of the online quilting groups also. :)

Congratulations! You'll really enjoy using the 7700!

I bought at wooden table at a thrift store for my machine. My DH cut out space for the machine, its plastic sewing surface and even cut out a hole for the knee lift. The table's legs are cut shorter for me (I'm short) and it's just right for me.

I've been getting used to using the knee lift, but I haven't used to start/stop sewing button. I love the machine and have a great dealer in Broomfield, a suburb of Denver.

Dealers here will give you 2-3 lessons at most, I only got 2 with my 6600 ... maybe they give a few more with the high cost of the 7700 ?? they should !! :roll:
