Or do they want solid colors for the star or can it be a patterened material for the red or blue? Is the cream background suppose to be a solid or can it be marbled or patterened?
On their picture of the quilt it shows red and blue star fabric with a pattern on them. I think solids or patterned will work.

I saw this the other day and sent an email to our guild newsperson to let everyone in on the event. I'm making a red and a blue star to send off. So glad we're all contributing to those who've served. I served and this is an honor to help out.

I plan on making at least one, and sent the link to my girl friend to see if she wants to make one too. Hope I can use Civil War reproduction fabric - don't have any traditionally colored patriotic fabric on hand. Perhaps I can find some medium reds and blues in my "baltimore album" type fabric stash. Goodness knows I do have the cream backgrounds in that stash.

It says "medium blue or red fabric" for the star and "light tonal" for the background. I guess you can translate that any way you want. The first page states a "cream background".
