In January 2010 I set out to make quilts for all my grandchildren (14) in all but was only able to complete 7. All of my grandchildren live in other states so I shipped the quilts to them, just in time to receive for Christmas. On Christmas day I received telephone calls from all of them and I could hear the smiles on their faces and the happiness they felt in receiving the quilts. I shared with each of them that there were lots of prayers and hugs in the quilt and I may not be there in person but each time they sleep under the quilt know that I am with them. In 2011 I will make every effort to complete the other 7 quilts along with quilts for my grown children (4). A busy year ahead I can see already.

Your story is so sweet. You probably gave him more love by making something for him than he has ever felt.

Being a foster child he probably has not had very gifts that were for him specifically, it was a wonderful gift you gave him; he will treasure that quilt forever.
