KOna, I found the Bella solids to be too thin and flimsy!

Dear All, Many thanks for your expert advice. I live in a small village in the UK with no fabric shops near. The natural colour fabric I ordered over the net was not Kona fabric. I have ordered fabric including a plain light blue colour, from this particular on line shop before and was very pleased. The blue plain fabric was especially nice to work with, a good weight and soft to the touch even after washing. I did send them an email and asked if the natural colour was part of the same range as the fabric I had ordered before. There is no brand name mentioned. They replied that they got all of their essential plains from the same supplier. Thinking about it, this does not quite answer my question. Certainly the natural colour fabric is no where near the quality I received from them before. Maybe I should have asked more questions or asked advice here before ordering. Unfortunately they do not send out samples. After a bit of searching I have found another site that sells both Kona and Moda in several neutral shades as well as a host of other wonderful colours so I will have plenty of choice in future.

Prices vary on-line. I haven't needed any in a while so don't remember which vendor I use. Google it and compare the prices before ordering.
I've also bought Moda Bella, which is a good product, but I prefer the Kona colours.
I purchased white and off white Kona fabrics from Fabric.com. It is very good quality - cannot see through. They also have special coupon codes for discounts on purchases from Fabric.com at www.retailmenot.com. I purchase a lot of fabrics from Fabric.com and have not been disappointed. Good luck!

I'm currently using Kona in an album quilt I'm doing for a wedding present. I love it. I usually buy it from fabricdepot.com. They have good prices for it when ordering 6 yds or 10 yds. I ran out so I had to break down and buy it locally for $8.00 a yard instead of 5.

For years I only used Kona. The last 2 quilts I used it for I was very dissapointed. I felt that it was thin and kept unraveling. Kona is easy to get where I live. I decided to try some of the Moda Bella. I am much happier with the
product. It is more tightly woven and easier to work with. The problem is I have to purchase it online. I will use the
Moda Bella whenever I can from now on.

Kona and Bella are both good. I have used Kona a lot and am always happy with it.

I love Kona fabrics! They are my " go to" fabric when I need a solid. As burch quilts says, they are a bit thick/stiff but that is fine with me.

You have to be careful that it's Kona manufactured by Kaufman. Joann's carries a "Kona" and it's not the same quality. I'm happy with both Kona and Moda Bella, I get whichever line has the color I need.
