I have started one, not gotten far, but plan to keep at it, love it! I started out doing EPP on this & the other, bigger, Millefiori quilt, but lately have been piecing them by machine. Have also pieced some by hand, no papers used. I think you can do it however you want. Right now I am just playing with putting some rosettes together, haven't attached any together yet. They are fun, & actually much faster by machine... but any method works greater. I started playing with another one this week, & here is my progress so far! Love these, they are so much fun to do! Am thinking of doing mine large lap size too, as I don't need another big quilt at my house...

(rural ems station) so sometimes get quite a bit of time to work on it, sometimes don't even get to look at it.

La Pa is pentagon based. Katja Marek has a web site for a hexagon based version. It's here: http://www.katjasquiltshoppe.com/the...uilt-along.htm. She asks participants to buy her book, "The New Hexagon," although her millefiore quilt isn't included in it. I like the pentagon based version better, however, hexagon templates are probably more readily available.

If you noticed my signature lines you know I am a huge fan of DW, and since every quilt needs a little DW, my last big rosette is themed, these are just the parts to the inner star round, I am excited about this one, it will be my sentimental favorite.

Holy Moly! Just Gorgeous! I do lots of curved piecing, but would think twice about attempting anything that intricate. Kudos, just so exquisite. Colors are exceptional as well. You, my good woman, are a true artiste.

A few pics of this weeks work. The overall shot is blurry sorry didn't notice it in time to fix it, but shows the placement of the last big one. The progress on the DW rosette, but I think I'm changing out the skinny diamonds to the same b/w fabric w/ the diamonds on it. And the lower rt corner rosette that to me looks like a folk art Mexican tile. I am going to post this now incase the pictures lock up my computer. Loading pics on this site is like Russian Roulette w/ my computer.
