    Wow, they are really cool! I have one in the garage I will have to bring inside. My husband said he would help me restore the cabinet. I brought it back from France and it says Made in England. I used to use it for a sewing table, with the original machine folded down.

    Where is the Vintage Section?

    Thanks Manley. What part of Central Ky. I'm about 2 hr 45 min from Lexington. Small world.

    That singer sure is a nice machine and so is the cabinet. Can't wait to see her when she's all cleaned up, please post pics

    Wow - that's terrific! :)

    You can buy a copy of your manual from Linda at Relics - they do a *great* job of scanning, and most of their manuals are spiral bound and plastic covered.

    You are going to be amazed at what that Kenmore can do with free-motion quilting. :)

    Looking at the zoom picture at Relics, it looks like the 1400 is a super high shank or maybe only a high shank. Either way, you will probably be able to outfit this machine with a complete set of attachments and cams really cheap if you start watching eBay.

    Both of them will absolutely plow through anything.
